Gabriele (Gabi) Reid, BA, HBISW, MSW, RSW
Founder/Registered Social Worker
Welcome, I’m Gabi - a registered Social Worker and founder of Thrive Counselling Muskoka. I hold a Bachelor of Arts with a focus in Psychology, Honours Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, and a Master of Social Work degree from Dalhousie University. With more than a decade of experience in the helping profession, I have supported children, youth, adults, and families in navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, and significant life transitions.
I offer an integrative approach that combines evidence-based, cognitive, and somatic modalities, frequently drawing from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based therapies, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. With children, I incorporate play and art-based therapies to support emotional expression and regulation.
My work is rooted in the belief that the body holds essential insights into our experiences and that true healing occurs when we learn to attune to these signals with compassion. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood. Whether you're working through recent or ongoing challenges, my goal is to help you feel grounded and connected to yourself.

Associate/Registered Social Worker
Hi, I’m Katie - I’m a registered Social Worker, holding a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Psychology & Sociology and a Bachelor of Social Work degree. I support youth (10+), teens, and adults through the many stages and transitions of life. My practice is guided by compassion, curiosity, mutual trust, and a deep respect for each person’s story and capacity for growth.
I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and therapy can be a space to reconnect with your strengths, make sense of your experiences, and move toward what feels most meaningful to you. In my work, I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I view my approach as person-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, tailored to your unique needs, pace, and goals.
